In order to maintain a safe environment for all, we have implemented the following:
• Masks. Per executive orders issued by Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, customers are required to wear cloth face coverings while on premises. Nothing in these rules require the use of a mask or cloth face covering by anyone for whom doing so would be contrary to his or her health or safety due to a medical condition, or by a child under the age of 2 years. Please follow the links above to review the latest information and guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control, the State of New York and the State of Connecticut.
• Hands-Free Ticketing. To minimize exposure, we are limiting the handling of boarding tickets from passengers with reservations. When you arrive at the terminal, keep your car window up and press your reservation number against the window so our check-in agent can read it. Your tickets will be printed and placed on your windshield. Our staff will collect the tickets prior to boarding.
Due to the increase in summer temperatures, and hot conditions on the car deck, we are no longer allowing passengers to stay in their cars during the crossing. All passengers must exit their vehicles and stay on the upper decks while the vessels are underway.
• Social Distancing. We have lowered the passenger capacities on our vessels to promote social distancing. While traveling with Cross Sound Ferry, please maintain social distancing measures whenever possible, such as staying and sitting with your household group, minimizing movement throughout the cabin, and avoiding long lines We have marked off booths aboard the vessels with blue tape. These booths are not to be used to ensure social distancing measures.
• Increased the frequency of cleaning for all vessels and shoreside facilities. All vessel restrooms, food service areas, countertops, tables, doorknobs, railings and other frequently touched surfaces are being sanitized between every trip. Our crews are deep cleaning and sanitizing at night while vessels are not operating. We have also increased the quantity of antibacterial hand sanitizing stations on all vessels and shoreside facilities and increased the inventory of all antibacterial cleaning supplies and sanitizers.
Please follow personal hygiene recommendations from the CDC, and DO NOT TRAVEL IF YOU ARE SICK OR HAVE ANY OF THE CDC COVID-19 SYMPTOMS. For additional information regarding the Coronavirus, visit the CDC homepage.
We will continue to monitor and respond as necessary to the latest updates from various agencies regarding COVID-19.
We look forward to sailing with you. Thank you for being a Cross Sound Ferry customer.
